Social and Emotional Skill Building
Build Them Up was created out of the idea that emotional intelligence is something that has been overlooked. Social and emotional well-being relates to the ability to understand ourselves, and others, and to manage life's challenges.
We now recognise its importance but there is very little emphasis on how children and even adults can actually learn these skills that will build resilience and well-being into their lives and into adulthood. The good news is, these skills can be taught and continuously improved.
We offer individualised therapy services at home, school or in the community with a qualified and experienced social worker.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is how the Australian Government funds the costs associated with living with a disability. The scheme's purpose is to ensure that people with disabilities and their families have the supports they need to give better choice and control.
Build Them Up is a Registered NDIS Provider in the 'Capacity Building Support' category to those who are fully funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme. This allows us to provide services to those managed by the NDIA via the NDIS Portal, as well as those who are self-managed and plan-managed.
NDIS Capacity Building includes a range of supports that enables an individual to build on their independence skills and participate in the local community. This could include learning self-management skills, organisational skills, and social skills.
We provide a mobile service delivery model across the following areas. In-person appointments and video-conference appointments are available with flexible days and times.
