ABOUT

Build Them Up was created out of the idea that emotional intelligence is something that has been overlooked.

Social and emotional well-being relates to the ability to understand ourselves, and others, and to manage life’s challenges.

We now recognise its importance but there is very little emphasis on how children and even adults can actually learn these skills that will build resilience and well-being into their lives and into adulthood.

The good news is, these skills can be taught and continuously improved.

Social and emotional skills are necessary to:

Understand and manage our own emotions and the emotions of others

Feel and show empathy for others

Establish and maintain positive relationships

Make responsible decisions

Take on and persist with challenges
